Dr. Derek was born in Oklahoma City and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Casady High School in Oklahoma City.

A recipient of the Morehead Scholarship, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During this time, he earned Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Eta Sigma honors. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English.

After college, he returned to Oklahoma City to attend the University of
Oklahoma Medical School. There he graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors
( top 5% of class ).

Dr. Derek continued his medical training at the prestigious UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. He completed both his General Surgery and Plastic Surgery residency training programs there.

UCLA has been honored consistently by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top 5 hospitals nationally. In addition, its plastic surgery program is recognized as one of the premier programs in the country. The faculty is comprised of various world-renowned experts in the fields of reconstructive and cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Derek returned to Oklahoma City to be close to his family. He is married to Betsy, A board-certified psychiatrist who specializes in child psychiatry.

Dr. Ed is a native Oklahoman, having been born and raised in Oklahoma City. He has spent his entire life in the area except for service time in the U.S. Navy and Plastic Surgery training.

He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Oklahoma and the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. He did his General Surgery Residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and his Plastic Surgery Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences Center. Between these residencies Dr. Shadid served in the U.S. Navy as a Medical Officer.

Dr. Shadid has been in private practice in Oklahoma City since 1968. From 1972-1975 he served as Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and started its first Plastic Surgery Training Program. He has also seved as Chariman of the Plastic Surgery Division at Presbyterian Hospital and most recently at Mercy Health Center.
Dr. Shadid is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties. He is a member of numerous national medical organizations including: The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Shadid is married to Darlene, an attorney who is also an R.N., B.S.N. They are the parents of four sons and a daughter. Three sons and their daughter have graduated from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. Another son graduated from Harvard University School of Law.
