DiolazeXL is a state-of-the-art laser hair reductiondevice available at Strata Aesthetics Studio that safely and gently eliminates unwanted hair. It has one of the largest treatment area sizes, making treatments convenient and fast, and targeting the root of the problem by delivering maximum power to a large treatment area without compromising efficiency. Unlike traditional methods (waxing, shaving, bleaching, or using depilatory creams) laser hair reduction with DioLazeXL achieves a 75%-85% reduction in hair growth, rather than offering a temporary solution. While results vary depending on skin type and hair texture, many patients notice a significant reduction in hair growth and texture after just a few sessions.

Smaller areas such as the lip and chin take as little as 5 minutes. Underarms and bikini hair removal treatments take approximately 15 minutes. Larger treatment areas such as the back, arms or legs take longer, from 30 to 45 minutes (for both arms or both legs).

Other than keeping the treated area protected from sunlight for a few weeks, you can return to your full, normal routines immediately. Slight redness similar to a mild sunburn may occur; this usually disappears over a few days.

It is normal for some hair to continue to grow after laser hair removal treatment. The Fraxel Laser has received FDA clearances for skin resurfacing procedures; the photocoagulation of pigmented lesions, such as lentigos (age spots); solar lentigos (sun spots) and dyschromia; treatment of periorbital wrinkles; and for dermatological conditions requiring the coagulation of soft tissue. It is also approved for the treatment of scars and wrinkles.

Side effects are minimal and usually limited to a sunburn-like redness which disappears in about 24 hours. Within 24 hours, new epidermal skin will develop and your skin will have a bronze appearance which can last from three days up to two weeks depending on what level of treatment you have received. As the new epidermal tissue replaces the damaged tissue, your skin will flake off. Moisturizer can counteract some of the flaking effect.

An improved skin appearance can be noted after the first session. However, multiple sessions provide even better results. We typically recommend a series of 3 treatments, with annual maintenance sessions as needed. Overall, your treatment regime will depend on the severity of skin damage, skin type, type of treatment (vascular vs sun damage) and energy settings.

During treatment there will be a bright flash of light from the Lumecca device which feels like a light elastic sensation. Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after treatment and usually subsides within an hour. Over the next 24-48 hours, you may see a darkening of pigmented spots; in the week afterwards the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening out of the skin tone. After treating vascular lesions you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.

Sun damage and skin complexion results can be seen a few days after the first session. The skin will continue to look younger and more brilliant over time with most visible results after 1-2 weeks. With additional sessions, you’ll see additional improvements. For vascular treatments, results can be seen in up to 2 weeks.

Most patients do not experience any side effects and any skin reaction usually resolves within a few hours. However, patients may find they are sensitive to sunlight immediately after treatment. This is why we highly recommend avoiding direct sunlight and any form of tanning for at least a month before and after treatment.
